SKEGU Creative Arts Festival (SCARF '09)

All creative young people willing to display their creativity are invited to participate in the SKEGU Creative Arts Festival (SCARF) '09 at 2 PM on Friday, 3rd April, 2009, at the University of Ghana. SCARF '09 offers the opportunity for young people to express their creativity through words. Participants are expected to present work from any of these categories: Poetry, stories and satire.

Writers should send entries (should be original one page document of poems, satire or short stories) together with their personal profile to Stanley (027 7311443), Bernard (024 3283427) and Owusu (024 3021793) or forward to skegughana@gmail.com .

Details
SCARF '09 will also be a time for young people to brainstorm on various issues. There will be a competition to select the most creative work from the three categories. Winners will be recognised at a later date and venue.

SCARF hopes to
> Give young people the opportunity to express their talents and abilities positively through creative means;
> Acknowledge and celebrate the creativity of young people;
> Promote partnership and collaboration between young writers;
> Brainstorm on the establishment of a publishing house for young people in the near future.

SCARF 09

Intelligence, well married with imagination, creativity and innovation is the only way out to unleash our [we young people] potential for the socio - economic development of our respective countries. In Albert Einstein's own words, "...knowledge is static.....but imagination rules the wold"

I therefore see the staging of SCARF as timely, as far as the young people of Ghana are concern, and I have no shadow of doubt that it would impact immensely on its participants. I wish SCARF the very best.
