Serenade

Nana Jabuu Agyemang

Around you an aura of delight
Beauty, men cannot hold off their sight
A lovely daughter of Eve sent
To be a lasting ornament
Be with me this moment
My plea to you to consider
To be with me forever
Or hold me either
Blossom eternized, If you were a garden
I would put you in a song to tell the world
What’s there to be enjoyed?
And men will run the cities void
To have a share in the cherries
But deny them even the berries
And I stay free from my worries
I will make the home you long
And envying ladies will there throng
Surprise in their ears a serenade, a song
For you through your window I will play
In time we may in May
Together promise forever to say
Oh a wonder! Our hearts to one another lay.

Kudos to Jabuu

Hi Jubuu,I like your style. Its quite unique and seems to tow the lines of the Victorian and Elizabethan poets.Guess Shakespeare,Byron,Coleridge etc. are happy in their grave.
